Tragic end of Shiv Sena…
Shiv
Sena may form a government in alliance with Congress and NCP (2019) in Maharashtra .
This is a tragic
conclusion of Shiv Sena as an electorally viable party, who in their myopic
view, permanently messed up a genuinely good mandate they got along with BJP.
They have ended
up gifting a major chunk of their vote share, organisational strength,
Ideological Heft and political credibility to the BJP.
This would not
be a bad thing, but the fact is BJP lost a true ideological ally, even though
BJP will become exponentially stronger in Maharashtra ,
they (NDA) most certainly will loose an ideological friend.
Shiv Sena in all
probability might form a government and will put their man as the Chief
Minster. Looking at Karnataka (JDS-INC), J&K (BJP – PDP) and Bihar (RJD – JDU), this Shiv Sena led UPA government will
be lucky if they survive for even 2 years.
They (Shiv Sena)
will loose a spectacular share of BMC Local legislature strength in Mumbai to
the BJP and might even loose all their party workers outside of Mumbai. The BJP
which has around 27% vote share in the state would go up to 37% and Shiv Sena
would end up at around 10% vote share in the next assembly election. Thus, it
would be difficult for Shiv Sena to even cross 25 seats in the next assembly.
In the national
level, the shiv sena is out of contention for good. Electorally it is highly
doubtful if they even get to win more than 1 or 2 Lok Sabha seats.
In a three horse
race, where UPA (NCP +INC) have a combined vote share of 32%, Shiv Sena at 10%,
NDA (BJP +RPI ++) at 40% and VBA, AIMIM, Indepndents and all others at 20%; BJP
led NDA would romp home comfortably with a 150+ seats. Shiv Sena would become a
fringe player in the assembly and loose BMC for good; thus, bringing an end to
the political relevance of Shiv Sena.
This
is a tragic end of Shiv Sena…
